Welcome to our school community. Our school has a clear focus on “educating the whole person within a supportive local school community”.
Therefore the enrolment of your child at The Gap State High School is special to us and we aim to provide a range of learning experiences and opportunities to enable your child to develop and grow during their time at school.
We are achieving our goal by implementing a number of programs, using unique facilities and putting in place structures to allow each student to pursue opportunities that meet their individual needs.
The school has a rich history in Academic Achievement and The Arts and in recent years the addition of the award winning and internationally recognised Leadership and Personal Development Studies program, GOALS. The GOALS program (Gap Outdoor Adventure and Leadership Studies) aims at better equipping students for life. |

There are five components to the course - Leadership, Physical Education, Life Education, Adventure Education and Community Service. This award winning course gives students a range of challenging experiences that aim to develop interpersonal and communication skills.
Our extensive Arts program is available to all students at our school. Music, Art and Drama are core in Year 8 and Extension Arts options are available in Years 9 - 12. Numerous other areas also have extension and accelerated programs in different year levels. Extensive Chorale and Instrumental Programs support the classroom music course in the school.
Supporting our curriculum we have a Community Based Sports program enhancing the GOALS program outside of school hours. The school offers a range of sporting experiences by participation in the community as a Gap State High School team.
To support our program developments, facilities worth over $3 million have been recently constructed including the unique Leadership Training Centre with indoor and outdoor challenge areas such as high ropes, rock climbing and abseiling walls; the Performing Arts Centre with auditorium, rehearsal rooms and digital music and composition laboratories; and the Visual Arts refurbishment have all been completed. There has also been a general upgrade of classrooms, science laboratories and our ICT infrastructure in the school.
Our school offers students many other activities and encourages all students to become involved and actively participate.
Our school is looking forward to developing a strong partnership with your family as we develop a strong sense of community involvement within the school.
